Show Us Where You Live Friday: Home Office

This week at Kelly's Korner it's "Show Us Where You Live Friday-Home Office".... and I am a few days late to the party!

Our home office is in the back corner of the house next to the great room. Many long days, week after week, year after year were spent in this room while I worked full-time+ from a home office... that is until two weeks ago. I am now a "Research Associate in the field of Child Development and Human Relations" [abbr: SAHM]. I'm liking the new job. I'm calling the desk in my kitchen "Mommy Central" and Bob is happy to have a "new" office;).

The look of the office now... with no Mommy-Yeah! Sophia likes it ;):

work laptop is no longer a permanent fixture:
the 4 veiled sculptures in the pic below are by Edward Kachurik GlassArt a local artist in Pennsylvania. They were a sale perfomance gift from my former employer

one of things we love about our house is the view from the back of our house.
here is the view from the office:

I have a scrapbooking area in my basement which is now used for kids craft projects. I will probably post pics when Kelly does bonus rooms. ;)

If you missed any of the home tour these last few weeks, below are the room links:

3rd week:

Loving the thought of many more to come....

Since the girls were home last Friday, I decided to take a break from work and have lunch with them. Our destination was the restaurant at the golf course behind our house.
***
It was a beautiful, humid day which I love! Miss Sydney likes to run ahead and pick dandelion flowers along they way. Sophia likes to take her time and walk next to Mommy. The girls ate a hot dog ($1 per hot dog!!) and I had a salad. We had a leisurely walk home, stopping to say HI to the barking neighborhood dogs.
***
It was the most relaxing, enjoyable lunch that I've had in a while. I can't wait to do daily walks and outdoor lunches with MY GIRLS this summer...

My last day of work is this Friday, May 22nd!
I can't wait to start my "new job" staying home with the girls full-time!

Bentley Family Picnic Weekend

Velia came up from Maryland on Friday & Saturday. She babysat Sydney & Sophia so we could go to the movies on Friday night. We saw Mama Mia... believe it or not, Bob liked it too (don't tell anyone, he'll kill me - His favorite scene was all the women running through the town dancing and singing). On Saturday, it was overcast so they postponed the Bentley picnic a day. What’s a girl to do on a rainy day… SHOP of course… we went to KofP mall to do some shopping for Velia. She picked out some great jeans & tops for college.

The girls had a great time on Sunday at the Bentley Family Picnic. Sydney said that her favorite activity was the moon bounce (big surprise there). We went on the tractor/wagon ride twice. It was a long bumpy ride through the river, woods & fields. I was not looking forward to the second round, but how do you say "No" to a cute little face saying "again, again". The ice cream truck was there for hours - all you can eat... spiderman was dripping all over them... it was a disaster! On the way home, Sydney told me she wanted to go to another picnic…

Union Street Blues @ Chesapeake Inn in Chesapeake City MD

Buddy's band, Union Street Blues http://www.unionstreetblues.com/, played on the waterfront at the Chesapeake Inn on Wednesday night. We had the best time.... We met Aunt Linda, John, Tony & Velia for dinner. Sandy was there with some friends Dan & Garie as well as Darius from Bechtel and his wife (wish I had a pic of them to share, but I don't). What a beautiful day... the weather was perfect.. it was a great casual atmosphere for the girls who were able to get up & run around a little. Aunt Linda brought them lots of presents to entertain them throughout the night. Sophia loved the band... she was crying because we wouldn't let her get on stage to play the drums. John stepped in to play bass guitar with the band (that was cool!). We left after dark... they zonked-out on the drive home.
