Happy Mother's Day Mom!

Dec08-Disney Cruise with my Mom

I truly do have the greatest Mom in the world! She gives unconditionally to her entire family and is the most selfless person you will ever meet. We are lucky enough to live only twenty minutes from my Mom and Dad. I love the fact that the they play a part in our girls lives on a regular basis. Sydney and Sophia spend almost every Friday at Grandmom's. She always has a wonderful day planned for them, including dinner so Bob and I can have a "date night", leaving many memories that will stay with our girls forever.
God Made A Wonderful Mother
God made a wonderful mother,
A mother who never grows old;
He made her smile of the sunshine,
And He moulded her heart of pure gold;
In her eyes He placed bright shining stars,
In her cheeks fair roses you see;
God made a wonderful mother,
And He gave that dear mother to me.

Happy Mother's Day, Mom!
I Love You!
Susan xoxo

Show Us Where You Live Friday: Living Room Edition

Kelly started a "Show Us Where You Live Friday" blog post last Friday. I am having so much fun viewing the virtual home tours. If you missed the first tour, check out all the great kitchens HERE!
---
This week is the Living Room Edition. I look forward to seeing your Living Rooms! Below are pictures of what I call our Great Room. Enjoy the tour!

A picture of the great room walking in from the Kitchen--
The best part of this room is the view out the windows--
Below is the view of the great room when entering from the foyer-- I do not care for the mirror location on the left wall and plan to remove it at some point... (anyone need a round mirror!?)

The picture below is looking out toward the foyer and up at the second floor hallway
(someone is out of the bathtub and peaking through the newels :)

I love the console table below (I bought it cheap from a floor sale at Thomasville Furniture)... it holds my coffee table books and my favorite home, cooking and travel magazines. I can't bring myself to throw out these old magazines.

This is a picture of the Console Chest in the foyer hallway. I use this chest to display a few pics of our girls. Gloves, hats, scarves, etc are stored in the bottom two drawers since it's next to the coat closet--

This picture of Sophia when she was 9 months old hangs on the wall in our foyer-

Kalco Chandelier in the foyer--

Here is a close up of the custom fitted valances that are on the windows in the great room. The top border fabric is the same fabric used for the pillows on the sofa--

If you missed the tour of my kitchen, here is the KITCHEN LINK.
Thank you Kelly. I am enjoying all the home tours! Click here to go back to the Living Room Tour.
Happy Mother's Day!! Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Show Us Where You Live Friday: Kitchen Edition

Kelly started a "Show Us Where You Live Friday" blog. I am thrilled about it! I love seeing other peoples homes for interior design inspiration and decorating ideas (I am a "model home junkie"). There is one big show-stopper.... I do not have a single decorative bone in my body... I am talking zero, zilch, big goose-egg LACK of creativity. There are many styles that I like and sometimes try... The end result is an incomplete, mishmash of design ideas that is unsettling at times. If I ever have extra money to throw away, I will hire an interior designer to do my house top to bottom. My favorite styles are neoclassical, art deco, French country, Mediterranean, the list goes on... We currently live in a "tract" home that backs up to a golf course. I love the great view, but I dream of building a bright, open and airy custom home one day on the Gulf Coast of Florida. It will be the complete opposite to the rich, warm colours that adorn my home in the beautiful, cold Northeast.

View of the Kitchen from the staircase...
View of the Kitchen from the powder & laundry room area looking across to the great room.

View of the Kitchen from the Great Room...

Kitchen Closet/Pantry....
Fish decor to appease my husband's taste... (I like these towel hooks too... they even match my Kitchen and Denby tableware colours!)

Denby Fire / Chilli casual tableware ... I love the warm colours and retro design.

Mikasa China... used approx. 4x per year...

The deck dining area that we will soon be enjoying...
I'm looking forward to the warmth of summer, outdoor dining and my husband grilling!

Thank you to Kelly for a great idea! Click here to go back to the Kitchen Tour.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
